Ebon Dacosta returned a net score of 71 to win the Tema Country Golf Club Captain's Prize Championship played at Tema on Saturday.

S. D. Odame took the second position with 72 net while Frank Adu placed third with 74 net after he beat E. K. Amedzro and Ebenezer Tetteh Mensah on count-back.

Margaret Oppong returned a net score of 73 to win 2009 Tema Lady Captain's Prize Golf Championship played at Tema on Sunday.

Margaret Anderson, who lost on count-back, took the second position, Mona Myles-Lamptey placed third with 76 net while Florence Etwi-Barimah took the fourth position with 77 net. In the men's encounter, Matthias Dorfe came first, with 63 net, beating Tong Hong, on count-back, Eric Tetteh Mensah placed third with 64 net while Kweku Okyere came fourth with 65 net, beating S.K. York and Oswald Amuzu on count-back.

This year's Ecobank Ghana Limited Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, January 16.

Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who disclosed this to GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition. He said the competition which would be the first major event of the year, would be played in accordance with the rules of the Club.

This year's Tema Country Golf Club Lady Captain's Prize competition would be played at Tema on Sunday, January 17. The competition which is open to amateur golfers throughout the country is being sponsored by Mrs Victoria Adjei, Lady Captain of the Club.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Club who disclosed this to the GNA Sports at Tema on Thursday, said about 100 golfers would be battling each other for the prestigious Prize.
