Home Call

The late Courage Quarshigah – former Minister of Health under the Kufuor administration – will be given a final rest on 20 March 2010 at the Quarshigah Family cemetery at Woe in the Volta Region.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the family Prof Kofi Quashigah, there will be a military pre-burial service for the late Quarshigah on Friday 19 March at the Methodist/Presby Church at Burma Camp in Accra.

Former President J.A. Kufuor has paid tribute to the late first National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, B.J. Da Rocha, describing him as someone who dedicated his entire life for the sustenance of the democratic culture of Ghana and particularly the NPP.

B.J. Da Rocha passed away last Tuesday, 23 February 2010, after a short illness.

The burial of the late Dan Lartey will be held at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, in the morning of Saturday, February 6, 2010.

The remains of the veteran politician would be interned at the Osu Cemetery, after which the public will have the opportunity to mourn with the bereaved family in their house at Osu, near Photo Flash, being Papaye Fast Foods.

Dag Heward Mills, Presiding Bishop of Lighthouse Chapel International (LCI), last Saturday broke down and wept uncontrollably during the funeral service of one of his missionaries who was gunned down by four armed robbers a fortnight ago.

The deceased, 26-year-old Pastor Peter Nii Addy, was a full time missionary at Enchi in the Western region where he pastored the LCI branch there. He was survived by a wife, Lily Addy, who is six months pregnant.

The late Most Reverend Lucas Abadamloora. Photo: GBN.comThe mortal remains of Most Reverend Lucas Abadamloora, Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese of the Catholic Church, was on Saturday interred at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bolgatanga, according to the traditions of the Church.

Most Reverend Abadamloora died on December 23, 2009, after succumbing to brief bouts of ill health and just three days after returning from a farewell mass in honour of Cardinal Turkson in Cape Coast. Thousands of mourners gathered at the uncompleted Basilica in Bolgatanga where the burial mass was held amidst sorry and grief as believers, family and friends bid the father of the diocese farewell.
