YouTube gets innovative. Photo: Lsi.upc.esYouTube has launched a new video-editing tool that lets you edit your uploaded videos inside your web browser.

The new video editor will definitely not replace desktop software like iMovie or Windows Live Movie Maker anytime soon. That said, YouTube’s editor does cover the basics like combining uploaded clips, trimming, editing and adding audio to your uploaded videos.

This isn’t the first time YouTube has experimented with in-browser editing. You may remember YouTube’s Remixer tool, which was released in 2007 as an experiment, had limited capability and was buggy to boot. It was based on Flash and other Adobe technologies.

Google is set to launch its own online e-book store in 2010.

Google Editions books will not be tied to a specific device, unlike rival e-book company Amazon.

The Amazon Kindle is linked to books from the company's own store and similarly with Apple's iBookstore.

A week after Facebook announced that it's "Like" button would start percolating around the Internet, the powerful social network says 50,000 websites have adopted the change.

"Already, just one week since launch, more than 50,000 sites across the Web have implemented the new plugins," Sandra Liu Huang writes today on Facebook's blog for application developers.

Users who rushed to snap up Apple's iPad are complaining within days of the slate computer's highly anticipated release that they're having trouble connecting it to the Internet.

On Apple's technical support Web site, there were 11 pages of comments Tuesday morning on a post saying Wi-Fi connections were weak or kept cutting out.

Google is expected to announce on Monday that it will withdraw from China on April 10, according to a report in a Beijing-based newspaper that cited an unidentified sales associate who works with the company.

"I have received information saying that Google will leave China on April 10, but this information has not at present been confirmed by Google," the China Business News quoted the agent as saying. The report also said Google would reveal its plans for its China-based staff that day.
