Nine years down the line, Jackie, who got married four years ago, is relishing her incursion into the Ghanaian movie industry. “My first lead role was in Divine Love but I would say I got more popular with my first acting role in the award winning sitcom, Things We Do For Love as Eyeonam.

For the last two months, Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has been in the news for the wrong reasons. He was reported by a Nigerian website to have raped a housemaid in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria where he shot a movie.

Though he denied the rape allegation, he is in the news again; this time he is lambasted from the same website for taking part in a gay movie in Nigeria but John says he is not gay.

So are you gay? Was a question posed by GhanaCelebrities.com to John Dumelo. After uncontrollable laughter, the actor said “Ahhh! I am not gay, homosexuality is evil.”

Though he seems to have made so much from the music industry, Reggie Rockstone after picking his cheque of $5,000 dollars according to a deep throat source, for a role in the latest movie White is Black, he will be wondering why he has had to stay out of the movie industry all this while.

Jean-Louis was the narrator of Djansi’s award winning film, “I Sing of a well”.

He played the supporting role of Gideon in “Tears of Sun” (Columbia Pictures, 2003) starring Bruce Willis and Monica Bellucci, directed by Antoine Fuqua. Jimmy Jean-Louis is best known for his role as “The Haitian” on NBC’s hit drama “Heroes

In ‘Sinking Sands’ as written and directed by Leila Djansi, Jean-Louis plays the lead male character, Jimah. Actress, TV presenter and producer Ama K. Abebrese was cast to play the lead female character, Pabi.

The big-screen adaptation of the 1980s TV series "The A-Team" came in at less than half that, the 20th Century Fox release opening in second place with $26 million.

After three weekends at No. 1, DreamWorks Animation's "Shrek Forever After" slipped to No. 3 with $15.8 million. The animated hit raised its domestic haul to $210.1 million, becoming the fourth movie released this year to top $200 million.

With a relatively modest production budget of $40 million, "The Karate Kid" far exceeded the studio's expectations. Early on, Sony executives would have been happy if the movie opened to half its $56 million debut weekend, said Rory Bruer, the studio's head of distribution.
