Defending Ghanaian League champions Hearts of Oak have set a 26 May date to float shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

The 2000 Caf Champions League winners want to look for alternative sources of funding by floating on the stock market.

The club pulled out of this year’s Caf Champions League preliminary round qualifiers citing the lack of funds.

US-based oil firm Kosmos Energy says it has not changed its mind about selling off its stake in the Jubilee Field.

The French News Agency (AFP) reported that the company had rescinded its decision to sell off the stake estimated at some four billion dollars to ExxonMobil.

State-owned Ghana Commercial Bank (GBC) experienced a whopping 50-percent drop in profit in 2009 compared to the previous year.

Profit after tax stood at GH¢18.8 million which was 50 percent below the 2008 figure of GH¢37.6 million.

This was contained in the annual report issued by the bank for the last fiscal year.

The proposed integration of the stock exchanges of Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast is now expected to take off sometime in the early parts of next year.

This implies that brokers in these countries beginning early next year would be afforded the opportunity to trade across the respective markets without necessarily cross-listing.

The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure, gained marginally by 6.31 points at 5,780.08 points as Ecobank Ghana and Standard Chartered rallied to push it up.

The gain brings the year to date change to 3.73 per cent.
