GBA President resigns
Unable to bear the pressure exerted on him by the Council of the Ghana Bar Association, Nii Osah-Mills, until press time yesterday the President of the Association, has resigned his post.
The Council’s decision was in connection with an interview he granted the media on Thursday, September 25, 2008 - which was widely publicised on radio and television - to the effect that Tsatsu Tsikata, former Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, who has been given a five-year jailed term for willfully causing financial loss to the state and misapplying public funds, had not had a fair trial.
The Council, according to a source, prevailed on Osah-Mills to relinquish his position because his pronouncements had “dragged the name of the association into disrepute.”
