Chelsea choose Mineiro over Appiah
Since Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien was badly injured playing for Ghana a few weeks ago, Chelsea have been looking for extra cover in the midfield department, and it seems that they have now made their decision.
It was originally thought that Essien’s team-mate in the Ghana team, Stephen Appiah, was the obvious replacement, but Scolari has decided to recruit his fellow Brazilian Mineiro instead.
Scolari’s assistant at Chelsea has let slip that Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Mineiro on a Brazilian radio station, when he said: “We have practically completed the recruitment of Mineiro,”
“He was available, out of contract with the German club, and at this time we had the chance to hire him and satisfy our need “
