Football people to get National Awards

The football fraternity would be represented at Ghana’s National Awards Day scheduled for next week with seven persons nominated for awards.
Seven football people would be decorated with honour at this year’s National Awards Day, to be held on July 3, 2008.
The seven nominated for awards includes two football administrators, four footballers - three retired - and a technical person.
They are: Kwasi Appiah a former player of the Black Stars and presently the senior team’s assistant coach together with Opoku Nti, another former player of the team would join Adjoa Bayor – Present captain of the Black Queens and Alberta Sackey - Former captain of the Black Queens to be decorated with awards.
Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie – Coach of the Under-17 side, the Black Starlets will receive an award.
The football administrators picking up awards are: Alhaji Grunsah - Founder of King Faisal- and Alhaji Sly Tetteh – Chairman of Liberty Professionals.
Ghana’s President, John Agyekum Kufuor nominated the seven to be part of the 243 award recipients for next week’s – July 3 - National Awards Day to be held in Accra.
