Lions eye first title
Second Place, Kpando Heart of Lions have not given up their cherished ambition of clinching their first league title this year. With seven matches to go, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have opened a nine-point lead on the league ladder, followed by Heart of Lions.
Despite the wide gap between Lions and first-placed Kotoko, the Kpando team are hopeful of edging out the league leaders to win this year’s Onetouch premier league title.
“In football everything is possible; therefore we are fully sure that with concentration, dedication, hard work and a bit of luck we can overtake Kotoko to win the title.”
The skipper of Heart of Lions, Jerry Akamenko who disclosed this in an interview, noted that the Lions were not perturbed by Kotoko’s wide lead on the league table, stressing, “We would never relent on our efforts to win our first title.
“Our aim for the season is to win the league title for the first time and so far our dream is on course”.
Akamenko cited the desire to succeed by the players and motivation from Lions’ management as the secret behind the team’s excellent showing this year.
