Fortune Island: The story continues
The Baron has convened a family meeting to drop his bombshell news … after more than 30 years of being a widower he has decided to take a wife, but why has he decided to marry a woman who is as young as his granddaughter?
On the face, the family appears to have accepted her into their fold but what has Tiger got against her new Grandmother?
It seems everyone on Fortune Island has something to hide and for good reasons. The new Mrs. Baron Hunter is the first culprit, only a few days after arriving on the Island and she is seen sending secret notes to someone and scheduling a meeting, what is she really up to?
Whatever it is, it cannot be good and one can imagine what will happen if the Baron should discover that his young bride is up to something behind his back. Again, what have the Barn’s last son and sister-in-law got to hide?
Why did he become incoherent and break out in a cold sweat at the mention of his sister-in-law’s name? It must really be something to make him so jittery and absent-minded even with his wife around.
Things seem to be falling apart at Fortune Island as the good Major is reported murdered in his bed. Who could be responsible for this atrocious act and what does the murderer hope to achieve by ending the life of the highest authority on the Island? Could it be a robbery gone horribly wrong or is it politically motivated?
These and other questions are what might be running through the minds of viewers of GTV’s latest soap opera.
The series which is under the directorship of film director, Ivan Quashigah and produced in collaboration with Charterhouse is catching on as a must-watch on GTV every Monday.
The series aired its fifth edition last Monday and already the suspense is beginning to build. Unfortunately though, Fortune Island has suffered a terrible blow with the death of Kwame Owusu Ansah, along with the rest of the Ghanaian film industry.
The late actor was one of the major characters in the series. He starred as Mr. Hunter’s first son who returned to the Island with a wife who seems to share secrets with one of his brothers.
Many are those who will sorely miss Kwame’s dashing good looks and the way he carries himself with such authority and power.
With his departure, it is difficult to say who will fit into his very wide shoes. The vacuum created in the show, like the rest of the film industry, cannot be filled. It may be a tall order for the producers to find another actor that will equal Kwame.
Until the vacuum is filled however viewers can discover what secrets lay underneath Fortune Island as they follow the series from the same team that produced Things we do for Love and the Taxi Driver series.
