That took the 10-day total for Will Ferrell’s basketball comedy to $24.7m (£12.2m) - considered a poor showing for a Ferrell comedy.
10,000 BC and College Road Trip took the top places in the box office chart despite bad reviews.
The Bank Job, a British film about a hushed-up London bank robbery, entered at number five, taking $5.7m (£2.8m).
The film, starring Jason Statham, topped last week’s UK and Ireland box office chart.
