Mensah grabs President`s Putter
Ebenezer Tetteh Mensah playing with handicap 6 returned a net score of 67 to win this year’s President’s Putter Championship held at the Tema Country Golf Club (TCGC) on Sunday.
K.A. Kronzu took the second position with 69 net, while Augustine Irabor placed third with 70 net beating Kofi Essel-Koomson on count-back.
In the Ladies’ category, Esi Cobbina, former Lady Captain defeated a field of 20 competitors to emerge champion with 67 net score, with a handicap of 24. Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong came second with 71 net and was followed by Esther Antwi with 72 net, while Suzie Abaloo-Kumassah placed fourth with 75 net.
The Professional’s event saw lanky John Dorman standing tall among his colleagues with 65 gross followed by Theophilus Cudjoe with 68 gross, and Emos Korblah placing third with a gross of 70.
The one-day 18-hole medal play was sponsored by Hon Felix Owusu-Addjapong, out-going president of the Tema and MP for Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region.
The competition was open to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country.
In his address, Hon Owusu-Adjapong urged the members to take keen interest in the club’s activities.
