Ban funeral activities to prevent CSM
Traditional authorities in the three regions in the North have been called upon to put a temporary stop to funeral performances to avert the outbreak of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM) in the area. A Public Health Practitioner, Noble Asakeya Alagskomah, made the call in an interview with the GBC in Bolgatanga.
Mr. Alagskomah, who is former Assemblyman for the Zaara electoral area said there is the high possibility of people being affected by CSM at funeral grounds due to large gathering saying this has been proved scientifically.
He urged the Ghana Health Service to intensify its public education on the disease and to collaborate with the District Assemblies to form more community volunteers to stand by in case of any eventuality.
