Annan grateful to Le Roy
Black Stars midfielder, Anthony Annan has paid homage to Claude Le Roy for the confidence the coach had reposed in him during the Africa Nations Cup tournament.
Annan who hitherto was not an integral member of the senior national team became an instant hero during the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations where he produced champagne performances to the admiration of all.
The icing on the cake for the brilliant lad was when he was voted MTN Man-of-the-Match after Ghana had defeated Cote d’Ivoire 4-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi last Saturday.
Already reports gathered by DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicate that top-notch clubs in Europe, including Chelsea of England are on his heels.
When DAILY GUIDE SPORTS caught up with an elated Annan nicknamed, Pablo Aimar, he was full of praise for Coach Le Roy for giving him the opportunity to represent his nation at the highest level.
He contended that the opportunity had opened doors for him and he would forever cherish it, stressing that but for the trust Coach Le Roy had in him, he could not have shown to the world what he was made of.
Annan thanked his colleagues, especially the senior players for their support and assistance during the tournament and hoped that the cordial relationship that existed among them in camp would be sustained.
He prayed for God’s guidance and protection to be able to maintain his form so as to give his best to his country and club at any given time.
Annan confirmed that some clubs in Europe had shown great interest in him following his exploits in the tournament, but stated that he could not tell where he was heading, since his managers were handling the issue.
