MTN provides 600 tickets for CAN 2008 matches
MTN, a giant in the telecommunications industry, has provided a total of 600 tickets to different groups of people to watch the CAN 2008 matches.
The groups includes the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD), the Association of Sports for the Disabled (ASD) and other deprived people in the community.
Mawuena Dumor, corporate service executive of the cellular company, said the offer was to make every Ghanaian part of the memorable tournament.
Giving a breakdown of the figure, Ms Dumor explained that the GSPD and ASD would receive 120 tickets each to enable their members watch the Ghana-Namibia and Ghana-Morocco matches.
The rest will be distributed to deprived people and this, she said, would be done in collaboration with selected radio stations in the Accra metropolis.
According to Miss Dumor, her outfit presentation was motivated by the overwhelming need to build a massive excitement and participation in what is not just Africa’s biggest football fiesta but an event that will bring pride to the nation.
Mr Francis Kpesenu, a representative from the National Sports Council (NSC), thanked MTN for the support and asked for fair distribution to avoid misunderstanding and acrimony among members.
